Yoyo Wallet, founded in 2013, is a mobile-first payment, loyalty and personalised marketing platform for retailers, brands, and the consumers they want to serve. The founders believe that more than just payment, mobile offers retailers the opportunity to create a truly personal buying experience for their customers.

There are many successful mobile competitors in the payment sector, however Yoyo claims to leverage the untapped data from transactions to gain insights and ultimately improve customer experience unlike many of their rivals. Retailers are able to utilise purchase history information to craft unique offers and an exclusive brand experience.

Investments and future

Imperial Innovations led a $1.2 million seed round for Yoyo in 2013, and the VC returned in April 2015 to lead the $10 million Series A round. Since launch, the app is being used at over 600 retail sites, and in more than 40 Universities and 100 corporate locations. Yoyo is now extending its reach to high street retail chains.
