Daily Rounds is a Bangalore-based startup building an academic network of doctors across a mobile platform. The company’s app provides free clinical cases, news and engaging medical content for healthcare professionals. Users have access to a feed of cases updated daily, presented in a journal like manner to create an effective learning tool for doctors and medical students.

How they’re disrupting

Whilst they are good sources of reference, traditional medical journals are antiquated and fail to engage users. Daily Rounds provides a personalised feed of cases tailored to a doctors specialty, and gamifies processes to allow doctors to test their knowledge. Interestingly the network of doctors can also be leveraged to build electronic health records, doctor networks and other healthcare solutions.

Disruption potential

8 million physicians worldwide.

Investments and future

The Daily Rounds app, which is partnered with WikiDoc and Harvard School of Medicine, now boasts the membership of over 200,000 doctors across its platform. The company raised a $500k seed round mid-2015 led by Kae Capital, which went towards the development of the iOS application.
