2U are capitalising on the demand for, and proliferation of, digital learning content. By investing heavily (as much as $10m) into each graduate programme it creates, 2U is providing universities with a scaleable education platform with no dilution of the learning experience. Plus by offering a revenue share to its partners, 2U have been able to sign clients up to 15-year contracts.
The higher education market is set to be worth $70.62 billion by 2020.
Investments and future
The company went public on NASDAQ in 2014, raising $119m. Prior to the IPO it had raised $96m from SVB Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners and others. With a US education market worth $555bn, a track record of 100% client retention and a continued global demand for online learning, there’s a strong outlook for 2U.
